All twenty -six stories of Lil Glooscap and the Legends of Turtle Island are creations developed reimagined from traditional legends passed down to us through our oral history and those of other indigenous nations, as well.

Our legends are important storytelling lessons and vary depending on the storyteller but all have valuable life lessons to teach us about how we can live and share respectfully on Turtle Island.

While the stories created for the series come mostly from Legends of our Mi'kmaq and Wolastoq ancestry, many other indigenous cultures share some our same legends.
